Booker T. Washington Learning Center
The Booker T. Washington Learning Center hopes to improve the quality of life for people in East Harlem by offering a variety of educational, recreational and arts programs. To this end, we have developed a variety of programs including a preschool, after school, summer camp, and a work readiness program for high school and college aged students. We want to ensure that our families receive the highest quality of
support, care and guidance. These programs are comprehensive and created for children and youth so they have the tools to overcome their challenges and thrive. Our hope is to break the cycle of poverty, oppression and dependency. We do by creating innovative educational programs that will better prepare our children for success. We have a dynamic staff that is committed to child development. We have a beautiful facility for our children. It includes a dance space, children's library, recreation room, outdoor play space and garden. There are also 11 classrooms and a large community room and kitchen.
